This is a fingerstyle dream guitar. Exceptionally sensative and responsive with the vintage tone that you would expect from a red spruce top and a fine rosewood body.
The top is from a very old, very fine red (Adirondack) spruce mandolin top set originally harvested by NorthWoods Tonewoods of Maine. Because it was sized for a mandolin, this top is constructed from 4 pieces. Similarly, the back is 3 pieces of the finest Honduras rosewood I've ever seen.
These highly sought-after woods are extremely rare these days, but with a little extra work an instrument can still be made from the finest tonewoods.
